(ATX) borrow/buy clutch alignment tool
Hey guys, this is sorta short notice since my clutch came in today and didnt come with a pilot bearing/TO bearing and alignment tool. In the event that I can use my current bearings, does anyone have a clutch alignment tool that they can part with for this weekend? Im in north austin.
I don't have a clutch alignment tool for an S2000, but I have a suggestion on the bearings... I would *strongly* advise against doing all of that work to replace a clutch and not replace the bearings, too... If you're anywhere near 80-120k miles, that's the range when those tend to start going bad for a lot of vehicles. It's worthwhile to call up some local Honda dealers to find the best pricing and in-stock availability of the bearings. You'll most definitely need to get a release bearing from a dealer, but if you need a pilot bearing, there is a place just NE of downtown that carries bearings of nearly every single size out there. Purvis Bearing on I-35, near Splashtown, will most likely have a bearing in stock that matches your pilot bearing, and will likely be cheaper than buying it from the dealership.
