Default club "badges"

Everyone, I got this PM from Krazik today. Insomniak said he would be willing to do something for this. Anyone want to offer ideas for our "club badge"?

See the Bay Area forum thread marked "Badges" for an example of what Krazik is offering for us. I think the Central Texas one should have bats in it to signify Austin. what do you guys think?

I am not sure if you have noticed, but we are now offering badges to the members of our regional clubs. Each club wishing to participate just has to make a badge that is 88x31 pixels in size and e-mail to me at krazik@s2ki.com - After you do that I will send you instructions on how to put the badges on your members' profiles.

I hope you enjoy this new feature.

At first I thought you meant badges to put on the car, but I see that you mean a graphic for the avatar, right? Like the Houstooks?

Anyway I think we should make one that is hill country oriented. Not too many people outside of Austin will get the bat thing...

Joseph,

Those are awesome pics, but it would be difficult if not impossible to get that much detail nto an 88*31 pixel avatar. My gut feel says we'll have to go w/ something a lot simpler. How about a pic of the SRV statue? (j/k, Sondra!)

Bats are cool, but I think something related to Austin's status as the live music capital of the world would be cool, too...maybe a pic of me playing guitar??? Hmmm, I don't envision getting much support for that idea...

Maybe an S2000 with overlay images of a guitar, a bat, and red-and-blues? LOL...

It has to be something very representative of Central Texas. Most people tend to associate Texas with cowboys and stuff like that. Although this tends to be all too stereotypical, it does give some symbolic reference to the region.
How about a picture of the Alamo?
Or, someone can take a picture of the front of their car with a cowboy hat on it.
Or, photoshop a big Honda logo on top of a stetson hat.

I don't know, just throwing out ideas.

BTW, when is the next happy hour? I'm finally done with school, and look forward to meeting all of you now that I have some time to breathe.

what about some long horns with a Honda or S2000 logo? I know it's still Austin oriented, but it would be pretty easy to recognize (even on a small icon) and it's pretty nice too!
