Default dead Stook...

Yesterday around 3pm I was driving E on 71 about 2 miles past the airport,
going about 65 mph when I stared to lose power, I was in 4th gear, noticing that my speed was slowly decreasing, I engage 3rd gear but I continued to lose speed, when the car was going around 45 mph the engine suddenly stopped.

While I was waiting for the flat bed, I tried to start it a couple of times, but when you push the cute little red button all you hear is clicking noises coming from the engine.

My car is now at the Howdy Honda dealer, ( imagine that).

We'll see what turnes out to be the problem.

That sounds like an alternator problem. Did your radio, lights, or hazards work?

I had a distributor fail on an old van with the same symptoms.

The infamous MAP sensor?

And, if so, why don't these things use mass air? They'd make even more power that way... and better emissions...

Results are in:
Blown Engine.

I'm in a rented 2002 Grand Am now, (Paid by them of course)
It'll take a week to order the new engine and another 3-4 days to install it.

So far they have been very helpful and on top of things. No hassles at all.

We'll see how it goes from here. I'll rate them and post the results.

Owwie.... let me know if there is anything I can do to help out while you are without your S2000! There have been fairly quick turnaround times for others around here who needed a new engine, so hopefully yours is back to you soon!

Sorry 'bout your car dude, sucks. Mine is about to go in for some surgery for the transmission.. dang it.

Is something like this common on S2Ks? I heard about the #4 cylinder problem, but how common is that?
