Driving School
I was trying to find a decent driving school here in Texas. I know Evolution Driving school has come to Houston in the past, but don't have any dates for Texas this year.
I have seen alot of schools around the US that offer 1 day for 999+. I was looking to spend under 500/day. Does anyone have a recommendation for a school in Texas for less than 500/day possibly?
Thanks!

There is only one choice:

The Driver's Edge.
Under $300 for a weekend of proper instruction in YOUR car.
Chris is right, it's an expensive weekend. Just don't "optimize" your costs by backing off on the important things like tires, a good helmet, and other safety measures.
The weekend will be expensive:
registration fee $275
hotel (manor house x2) 130
gas (to get there and back, and for all your laps) $80
food $75
prep the car $$$ - it depends.
A new set of S02s is $678 from The Tire Rack (not incl. shipping and mounting).
A set of aftermarket brake pads are around $100 or more, depending on what you go with (and that's worth another conversation).
An alignment (to get the car in stock alignment, as it tends to wonder off and the car is extremely sensitive to alignment) is around $100, again depending.
On the other hand, this isn't necessarily something you have to do all the time, this could be a once-a-year type of event for you. Or once ever. It all depends on what you want.
- If you want some instruction in high-performance driving (with 8x ~20 minute sessions on the track and multiple classroom events), then this is for you.
- If you want to learn how to use the car as it was designed for use, then this is for you.
- If you want to be a better driver on the street, then again this is for you.
- If you want to move towards SCCA/NASA type events someday, then this is an excellent start towards that as well.
