Hey victor you and me need to set something up i know just about every s here in upper cen-tex lets set something up and try to get ahold of harris hills and get a track day. I dont think the winter would be the best time just depends. hit me up and we will work something out we need to find a place that is about the same distance to meet up at... especially those guys out of SA I know they probably dont want to travel 3 hours to Austin just to meet up while we only travel 20 minutes to austin

It's only a 1.5 - 2.0 hour drive to Austin from San Antonio, depending on traffic. I'd be willing to go to Austin for a huge meet as long as it's a worthwhile (couple hours).

A meet is one thing at HHR but a track day is entirely another. I was happy to be involved in the S2K track day this summer. The organizer had to arrange for tech inspections, sponsors, instructors, grid and flag volunteers, EMS, catering, insurance and countless other things. The cost was kept low enough for a one day event but it required several run groups including other car makes to avoid an entry fee that could have run in the hundreds of $$$. Planning took months. In the end it was a well run event and a blast to attend.
The track owners have been happy to host meets with some track time to promote the track at no expense to car clubs. Once the track hits their membership targets these may become a thing of the past. HHR is a for members club.
The track is still very green and many find traction elusive on a hot day. Winter months may not be the best time for any beginners but you can always learn something.
A track day is certainly possible. The organizer of the last S2000 event, volunteers and the track management have discussed having another...

The San Antonio group is running to Lost Maples on the 8th. The Austin group along with some folks from Houston and elsewhere are making a two day trip the following weekend to Koyote Ranch in the same area. The "Fall Colors" drive varies in size every year but on occasion it is an All-Texas size event with S2000s from Austin-SA-HOU and DFW. Others are certainly welcome to join us. Call Koyote Ranch near Medina if you want to reserve a cabin.

It can be done for less depending on the numbers. We can certainly work something out, probably in warmer weather. The drive to HHR takes about 45 minutes from North Austin via the new toll road, 183 and 21. I'm pretty sure Bo Rivers will entertain a meet however.

Unfortunately the Iron Rock Raceway karting track ceased operations at ABIA on the 24th of October. They lost their lease a year early because the airport wanted the parking lot year round. IRR hopes to open a new permanent facility elsewhere in the future. Good chance they will, considering the memberships they've sold.
