first ticket in the s
Well, it finally happened. I was running late for work when a motorcycle cop got me going 84 in a 65. This is actually my 2nd ticket ever, and the first ticket ive had since I was 18.
The cop said something about defensive driving and having the ticket cleared off my name and not paying, but my roommate is saying that defensive driving can cost as much as a ticket.

yeah but i dont think u can take defensive driving. when i got my ticket i was going 68 in a 45 and the judge told me that i had to take agressive driving coruse and that the ticket was going to stay on my record because i was going 23 miles over! i was mad lol and then i had to pay $265 but that was my first ticket in the S too ha ha

Depends on Judge. DD is your best option. I have always pleaded "No Contest" and taken defensive driving. Just be ready to pay a significant portion if not the entire cost at court

Same thing happened to me a couple months ago. 2nd ticket ever, first ticket in the S. I was trying to catch up to my parents going down to Corpus and was doing 83 in a 65 on I10 when the officer was sitting under one of the 410 over passes. Just like my other one in the Integra a couple of years ago I took DD. Like Hisham said, just plead "No Contest" and ask for Defensive Driving.
You can take DD as long as it's not 25mph over the limit and you haven't taken it in the past year from the date of the ticket; there's a few other rules but those are the main ones. Check out: http://www.sanantonio.gov/court/defdriv.asp
It's going to be $107.00 instead of how much the ticket will cost you + $25 for defensive driving. In my case $132 was cheaper than $206 so I took DD.
