Default Front License Plate Law

SB 561 has been filed for the Texas Legislative Session 81 to repeal the requirement for a front license plate in the state of Texas.

http://www.legis.state.tx.us/Search/TextSe...Exact=&Exclude=

Contact your State rep and tell them you support this bill!!

Currently it is illegal to NOT have a front plate (I've never seen it enforced!)

if a cop doesn't like you, they'll get you for it.

its one of those things that can lead to probable cause, depending on where you stand with the law....

Only cop who gave me a warning about the front plate was a MP on base. Been pulled over a bunch by SAPD for other speeding and stuff but they dont seem to give a ****

Don't have one on the Lude! I've been pulled over several times SAPD didn't write me up for it!

Like senor_flojo said it depends on the cop!

I got pulled over by a Bexar County Sheriff that was in front of me on hwy 90 a few months back. I was on my way to work and he made me 30 min late . Luckily it was just a warning.

For some reason SAPD doesn't really care. I've been passed by a bunch who don't even look twice. Even when I got pulled over recently the cop didn't say a thing.

The time I was pulled over the cop didn't ask about it. If you're not a dick to them, I seriously doubt they will care unless they're having the shittiest day of their life.

I got pulled over by a BICYCLE cop one time while sitting at a red light for no front plate. I played dumb and said I didn't even know how to mount it on there since it didn't come with a bracket... He just gave me a warning and said I should find a way....

I don't drive the car enough to bother putting it on.
