After much deliberation i have decided to part with my ap1 s2000. I learned to drive on that car, and it served me well...however her time has come, and now we must go our seperate ways! Im going to the subie dealership today, here i come WRX.

I hope the WRX community is as active as the s2k's!

Ok me and stealth went to the subaru dealership....WORST EXPERIANCE EVER.

The guy didnt even know how to calculate interest (or so he says) and then they were extremely rude, and unhelpful. He asked how much i owed on my car, and i said "thats none of your business" and the guy goes "your playing texas hold em and thats not the type of business we do here" LOL what does how much money i owe have to do with me buying your car. Fricking a salespeople......then they tell me sombody else is looking at the wrx i want "NO YOU DONT SAY!!!?!!" LOL I told the man i was NOT upside down on my car, and thats all he needs to know AT THIS POINT. MY dad cosigned on my s2k, so i cant lose him money, the guy doesnt udnerstand that. On top of that when i asked to test drive it, the guy goes....this isnt a joyride, and dont rag the car out...i go "im not going to, i know to warm the turbo up, and what not beforehand" and he goes "well its our car" WTF?

Dont go to the subaru on san pedro

p.s 07 wrx handles like a suv, and you cant hear the boxer pur....its a dud, and not worth 23k.

While the s2k awaits repairs i must find another option.......idk what to do

If you were planning on financing through the dealership then the question as to how much you owe is valid. Your response of "none of your business" is a bit harsh. I happen to know one of the senior sales guys at that dealership and he is very knowledgeable and nice.

As for comparing other cars to the S2000, good luck. The WRX shifter feels like crap, it drives like crap, and the turbo pretty much dies after 3rd gear. The only version of the WRX worth going for is the STi. You may also want to check out the Mazdaspeed 3... a WRX killer, and though it is FWD, it is a really nice car for the price.

I would keep your S2000. It's a great car, and I have honestly never experienced a ride short of an exotic that even comes close.

I'd have to agree with that... I was just going to say that the only WRX worth owning is the STi...

David, why don't you just swap out the clutch on your car? It's certainly a lot cheaper than taking the depreciation hit on a new car. The engine seems to be just fine on your car, and clutches are normal wear and tear items. I don't really see a reason to get rid of it.

im sorry but the WRX is a waste of time IMO.

S2K over any WRX any day

if you are going to buy anything to replace the s2k that is a rally car, at least go top notch and get an EVO!

the evo dominates the AWD import world

but, i sold my EVO IX MR to get my 2001 S2K.

And i dont regret it. But i do miss the power.

The WRX needs a lot of money and work to be any kind of worthy anything, plus it's a subaru, and there are wayy too many all over the place

I bought the Saab version of the '06 WRX wagon a couple months ago and I couldn't be more pleased. The Suby and Saab 9-2X community are extremely active and very helpful with mod advice. The Saab 92-X shares some suspension components with the STI but it handles very differently than the S2K. With the addition of some suspension upgrades we're already enjoying the Saabaru on the AutoX course and have future plans for the track. I'm continuing to enjoy my S2000 while the 9-2X serves the role as daily driver and DOT-R compound hauler.
The cool thing about my purchase from Saab is the superior customer service, longer warranty, roadside assistance and free scheduled maintenance for the first two years.
Don't let the stock handling charateristics of the WRX fool you. In some conditions the car is faster than my S2K. An instructor at TWS I know mentioned these AWD cars are extremely fast on the track. One bears a bumpersticker that reads "You've just been beat by a wagon!"

Further tuning and mods are ongoing...

Ricky the reason i dont want to replace the clutch is because i took my car to gunn honda, and paid for the diagnosis...and it turns out the clutch is fine. They say they need to open up the tranny for 800.00 to see whats wrong with it. As of now i had them put in new MTF and the shifting at low rpms is decent, in all gears. Then there is the question of whats actually messed up on the car, they think its synchros....idk how much those are to replace...anyone know?

If they open up the car (800.00) then they tell me the parts i need to make it run (could range from 100-2000) im really ####ed. Then if i decide not to fix it, thats 800.00 gone just for looking at it...or they charge me for it to sit while i save money for the parts. IDK WHAT TO DO LOL
