Default inspection?

I've searched and can't seem to find any TX posts on this but I'm sure it's been answered before.

Can we run an AEM standalone and still pass TX inspections?

Yes and no. It depends on where you live. I have an AEM standalone and the short answer is if you live in a county/State that plugs into your OBD II port as part of the inspection you will fail. Thankfully, Bexar county is not one of those counties (or so I am told). I am actually going to get my car inspected tomorrow morning so I will let you know if I have any problems! According to the guy who has done all the tuning on my car, the AEM system is more adjustable and therefore better for tuning, but the Hondata K pro uses a stock (NSX) chip so it will pass inspection without having to jump through any hoops.

if you're in Bexar county you should be fine.

I'm in brazoria and I think they do plug into the obd II. On my gti i had revo tuning that tricked the computers into showing that the secondary O2 sensor was active.

Good luck! Hope you pass

I just answered my own question. The 4 counties around my area all use OBDII testing
