While I agree that the immobilizer will make it difficult to hotwire, I still think an alarm is a good addition. Why? First, for creating attention if someone was to try to tow it away, and second, to guard the interior contents. Although I rarely if ever leave the top down unattended, I like having a proximity sensor to keep honest people honest. IMO, having the blinking light and Clifford stickers is also a deterrent, as many thieves would prefer to find an easier target. The immobilizer may stop the thief, but I'd rather deter them from trying rather than learn about the immobilizer after breaking into the car and tearing up the interior/electrical system.

I "downgraded" from the Intelliguard 900 in my previous car to an Arrow 3 system. I wanted to stick w/ Clifford quality, but the Intelliguard had so many bells and whistles that I never used (& a 25 p. owner's manual), that it was more trouble to use than I wanted out of an alarm system. No complaints w/ the new one, I'm satisfied given my needs.

The alarm will add to the immobilizer's security, but I'd guess that the alarm would be easier to defeat than the immobilizer.

BTW Tex S2K, who says you have to make a choice between an alarm and track day? They don't have to be mutually exclusive. I do track days almost every chance I get...it just happens to be that they're usually on 2 wheels!

Why didn't you ask for Sam and tell him I sent you? I've always found that references lead to better service, b/c you not only have a new customer at stake, but a loyal previous customer and his/her future referrals...

When your car is as precious to you as mine is to me, I want to ensure that the sales person and installer really care about what they sell and how they install it.

So does anyone know the difference between the Clifford Concept 600 and the Clifford IG8000?

Also, regarding the immobilizer that come with the S2000's... How many keys come with the car? Of those how many are regular, valet, etc...

Thanks!

I don't have an alarm. An alarm may be of use for contents if your car is outside at night in an accessable location. Randy had his top cut open and the seats stolen. Just my opinion that like any lock, they are designed to keep honest people out, a pro can always bypass them. For those who would try to steal the car, the imobolizer will probably suffice. In addition the radio is coded to prevent it from functioning if it is removed. Of course, since it a piece of crap, odds are no one is going to steal it.

As Chris says, If $$ are no problem, then get one and sign up for JohnEagle Days in May or driver's Edge in January or February. Limited funds is a no brainer to me......do the driving events. If you do, I'll see ya there.
