She agreed to $22,500 for the '03 with 18k. Very Nice......
I am having those Auto P.I. guys inspect the car this afternoon. I have my credit union paperwork mostly done so it shouldn't be too much longer. Now anyone want to buy a '94 Miata with a hardtop? |
The Auto P.I guy said almost everything checked out. They give you a report
with about 100 items that they give you status on. Looks like it needs new rear tires, but also that there is some driveline vibration. I noticed this too when driving as it did not feel as smooth as the 05 I drove or the 01 I remember driving back in Janruary. Any thoughts on this? As an added bonus my Miata was broken into last night. They caused about $200 in damage to the console and ignition and got away with a $15 pair of Target sunglasses. Great. |

That's such chickensh*t about your car getting broken into. Don't people have better things to do with their time? sheesh...
So, where are the pics of the new S2K? Tx_Phantom from a dealer - $23.5 vs. the $22.5 I offered her. She said she would sell it to me if I could match the 23.5 and I replied that I was not ready to do that........Of course it could be a bluff to try to get me up a bit. I told her if the deal falls through with the dealer to give me a call back. And I still can't decide if I prefer the older S2000s or the newer ones(I know its common quandry). My roommate referred me to America's Locksmith and they came out and fixed my ignition for $42.50. I just wish I had seen the thieves to get their license plate or just to run 'em down on foot. |
I took a 2002 for a test drive yesterday. It had a small accident which damaged the rear quarter panel, however, the repair work was very well done and I could not tell the difference. There was also an annoying rattling sound from the right side of the car just behind the seat when the top was up that the dealer could not ID. Needs 2 new tires and has a few parking lot scratches. They bought the car at 5k miles and now it is at 26k.
But it does have a 7yr/100k warranty and it drives just like a new car. The owner was meticulous in maintaining it even having it detailed. There is another blue 2002 in S. Antonio(dealer) listed for $27k with 31k on the odo. |

A "meticulous" owner would have new tires, no scratches, and had the annoying rattle fixed!
Keep looking, you can do better! -Steve on a daily basis. He did have the dealer investigate the rattle and has it doc'd that they could not ID it. As for tires I have seen quite a few 02s and 03s that need at least 2 new ones since they do wear out relatively quickly. So what do you think it is worth? It seems to be only about once a month that a blue 02 or 03 comes up in eastern Texas so I am trying to be patient. |

$21K???
I am having an pre-purchase inspection done today. Hopefully they can also tell me about that rattle and if any other damage was done in that fender-bender. When I get my S I want to do a ride with you all S.A. and Austin folks - and you can hold me to that statement! Anyone else enjoy Lime Creek Rd(Lake Travis) or River Rd(Guadalupe River?)? |
I will bet you almost anything that the rattle is the retaining bolt for the spare wheel. I had the same symptom and that was what it ended up being. Simple, and easy to overlook.
