Looking for a Suspension Shop
I got sent down to Del Rio, TX this summer (about 2 hours west of San Antonio) and really don't trust any of the mech. in town.
I am buying a set of Teins from a member on this forum and plan to install them myself with a buddy who lives at Randolf, in San Antonio. After the install I want to get a good alignment and a corner balance done, as well as some advice on damper settings. I am doin' the work at Randolf so that i will be close to a good shop in San Antonio to get it aligned without having to do a ton of driving.
So, who do you recommend?
Thanks in advance

I just got an alignment done at Gil's Tire on San Pedro by Wayne. Nice guy and was spot on. I've heard at least 2 people say they like Firestone's Lifetime alignment. I'm not sure if they allow you to use custom alignment numbers with the Lifetime one. I know of 2 others who use the Brake Check Lifetime alignment and I know that they do not allow custom alignment numbers with the Lifetime alignment, only stock setup; it's extra for the custom alignment.

thanks. i had a "lifetime" alignment done at a couple Goodyear shops around the country, but the latest one was pretty badly screwed up here in Del Rio.

Firestone did UK alignment settings w/ my lifetime alignment. I think it really revolves around whether you can find a Firestone w/ good equipment and technicians who care, since they vary greatly.
NTB also offers 1, 3, and 5 yr. alignment packages, that may be worth looking into.

Soulspeed is awesome, and worth the premium. I know exactly who's doing the work, I see them at the track, and the entire staff is very cool. They're done everything on my car that I couldn't or didn't want to do (alignment, corner balance, fender rolling, header install). Cars set up by Soulspeed (incl. my Miata) are 2 of the 3 best handling cars I've ever driven.

There is another guy, Ed Gilfus, who is one of the best in the business, but he's lost his location for the moment. If you want me to check in with him to see if he's got a new home, I will. He does most of the spec Miatas around these parts.
