Moving to Austin
Well I arrived at the crack of dawn this morning to some lovely rain. Just what I didn't need at that moment in time, but it did turn into a nice day today.
Anyways... Looks like the best day for me will be Wednesday. I would say Thursday but I do not know if I will still be here or heading back to DFW. I'm trying to get Friday off so I can get home and replace my clutch and get some things donw to get my house ready to sell.
So if anyone is up for Wednesday night, that would be awesome. My number is 214-869-8518.

Talked to Sondra and looks like dinner will be tonight at Moonshine in downtown. She said it's off of 3rd and Red River, so if anyone is interested, we will be there at 7-7:15 tonight.
They have a website, how about that. http://www.moonshinegrill.com/
Guess I have no excuse for getting lost for sure now.

In Austin again this week, anyone down for dinner and drinks! Just give me a call. 214-869-8518.
BTW.... Had a good time kicking some ass in Darts last week, not to mention that outstanding dinner!

Looks like my job hop may finally be coming through as well... I'll likely be down there starting mid january
Welcome to the group and to Central Texas. Seems like everyone in Austin comes from somewhere else so you won't be alone in that regard.
On the housing front there should be lots of new development in the rectangle of US 290 - SH 130 - SH 71 - US 183 that would be close to your work and affordable. I recommend living and working in the same town b/c even with the toll roads congestion will continue to increase. Plus with the shorter commute you will never have to consider a vehicle you can't shift yourself.

Okay - I accepted an offer today... I start Jan 15th - basically McNeil and 183.
I'm going to stay with a friend for a couple months and then find a place to rent. I think it makes sense to rent for 6 months or a year to learn the city a bit, make sure my new job is a keeper, let Becky get settled in etc (she is required by contract to give 2 months notice... so she'll come down and I'll sell my house here later).
Looking forward to hanging out with you guys more
