My New Car
David,
Keep in mind that the most significant amount of the depreciation on a new car happens in the first 2-3 years in most cases. That's the age of vehicle I'd be looking at if I were you. An Eclipse or Talon will definitely be a maintenance nightmare, not to mention they're not really all that special or even very quick. If you thought your previous S2k had issues that frustrated you, multiply that by about 3-4x with an Eclipse or Talon.
If you liked the S2k before, why not pick up another one? If you want to branch out and try something else, start test driving cars like I said before and figure out what you can enjoy driving every day.

Yea Ricky you always hit the nail right on the head. Its just that now im making good money, i dont want to go in any debt again, but then i realize its inevitable you know? I dont want to spend more than 350 a month on a car, thats ruffly 13 or 14k i think financed for 48 months. Of course ill keep the escort, and that car will be my toy. The s2k frustrated me because i was a dick and raced the hell out of it, but im alot more relaxed now, i dont even romp cars i test drive, hell i dont even race any car really, i just like the thrill of driving it, and i do get on it slightly....so my next car will last alot longer than my first S2k which i learned stick on. If you were me what cars would you look at that dont need working on really, and that are turbo...MAYBE n/a and that can mod slightly. I want a weekend fun car, that if i need to can be my daily driver for short periods of time.
im no mechanic and dont have time to be, so i guess dsms are out of the question if they are that bad for maintinence.

Piss on it, you only live once right? I should save up couple thousand then get a 04 sti for like 22,000 with 25k miles on it and finance for 60 months...thats like under 400 a month. Im pulling about 2400 a month right now after taxes.......and will live at home for ht next 2 years..........SO IDK
FRUSTRATED, tempting tho.

He already said he wants a car that he's not going to have to work on a lot.....
The STi isn't a bad idea. The G35 is a nice car, but the shifter felt really clunky when my wife and I went and test drove one about a year ago. It's also very heavy feeling to drive.
