I need to fix my GF's 02 diesel new beetle air conditioner. I took it to a diesel specific shop here in town called "Diesel Toyz" and they are quoting it as a new compressor and the bill is roughly 800 bucks. My GF isn't to trusting of this shop so I want to take it to an AC specific shop for a second opinion.

 

Disregard... lol. The shop called me back and told me it was a fan control module. A lot cheaper. I would just do it myself, but that would require me to pay for the diagnosis. The diagnosing was $85 an hour, so i'm content paying the 200 for the module and labor. If anyone has a diesel vehicle, Diesel Toyz is a good place and the owner is really informative.
