I think i am going to make it..jus gotta check work schedules..how many s2ks are we lookin at to coming..and since i am in san antonio does that mean i have to drive up to austin..??

 

At this point there are a little over 50 registrations, and we expect that number to increase in the next four weeks.

Whether you "have to" drive to Austin or not depends on whether you want to go carting, I guess.

 

On the Friday afternoon of the S2kDays event, I am planning to drive my 4Runner to Austin (something about automatic transmissions, comfort, and Friday afternoon traffic go better together)... Depending on whether or not my wife wants to go up with us as well, I will have 2-3 open seats available for anybody that doesn't want to take their S2k's up there or is just too tired to make the round trip after driving half way across the country to get to the event site.

The tentative schedule for S2KDays has been published. Lots of stuff to do, both with the group and on your own.

Also, here is a summary of the items that will be paid for either from the $90 event registration fee or due to the generosity of American Honda.

- Either a $75 gift certificate to be used for golf or at the resort spa or an estimated $75 savings on the normal kart racing cost.
- Appetizer reception (cash bar) on Friday evening.
- Round trip bus transportation to downtown San Antonio Friday evening.
- Chartered boat tour of the Riverwalk on the San Antonio River.
- Lunch on Saturday's group drives.
- Event banquet at the Tapatio Resort with entertainment or guest speaker.
- Entry into the raffle of sponsor-provided items.
- Campfire following the event banquet.
- Sunday morning tech sessions/demonstrations.

We need to put something together for Thursday evening. I suspect as you mentioned, there will be some folks in the Austin area the night before karting. Makes sense to have a dinner or GTG Thursday evening, maybe lunch before karting Friday and then a caravan to Tapatio.
