S2000 kaput
In keeping with the growing local trend, now my S2000 is kaput. A "check engine" light came on last night and despite somewhat reduced power I limped it over to the dealer. No oil leaks, loss of fluid, or any other apparent symptons.
On the other hand, this car has been perfect to date, despite being a first-year 2000 model there have been no tranny problems (depite several track events) or anything else. And, I've only got 9600 miles on it after all this time...

Hopefully your code is sensor or emissions related (MAP, O2, etc) and not a misfire or anything major. I had my check engine light come on a couple of weeks ago with code "411" - Secondary air system improper flow. Turns out that when they drop the transmission, there is a hose going to the resonator that can easily come loose, and needs to be plugged back in.
Good luck...
Good luck...
Jeff - if it happens, sometimes, pulling the fuse to reset the ECU can clean up false readings. But if it comes back and continues to drive as you say, then you did a good thing by taking it to the dealership.
Hope it turns out okay.

Yea, but is your check engine light blinking?
Mine likes to blink in a morse code style of flashing; as if to say it is trying to tell me something.
... maybe she is just trying to say she loves me!

Wow, it seems like a majority of the local S2000's on this board are out of commission!
I'm almost worried about when my car's time will come given all the bad luck everyone else is experiencing...

Nicht Kaput!
Just got my car back from the dealer and it's now perfect again. Besides fixing the glitch (broken gas cap created a fatal code), they also installed the seatbelt recall.
And, at my request, they ordered a replacement front tow hook cover (the paint was coming off it on it's own) and polished the rear window (I had asked for a warrenty replacement, but they polished it up as good as new).
Now, which drive to take this weekend - the long one or the short one? The long one would drive my mileage over 10,000 :-(
