SASCA AutoCross
Awesome Course! It was really hard to maintain concentration in the hot weather!
Once again thanks to the SASCA Team for setting this up!!
It was Great to see so many S2000's out there!!
as soon as i knocked down my tire pressure in the second heat my times dropped.
Started the day with 54 secs. Ended the day with 46.301 sec

The site is down at the moment, but once it comes back up, you can see my six runs from yesterday's event.... I think Adolfo was riding along on run 2.

As for the novice class, it's all on you. If you want to register in the open classes, you're welcome to at this point. We mainly have the novice stuff as a way for those folks that are new to see how they're doing against other people that are also new. Generally after one year you aren't allowed in novice any more and I think you guys are getting pretty close to that point now. What they does allow is the ability for you guys to run on race tires if you want to. You can also go into whatever classes you want, based on what modifications you want to do to your car. I highly recommend downloading a copy of the 2009 SCCA Rulebook and go through it to determine what class you want to be in to determine what mods are going to be worthwhile in your future. Also read up on the Street Touring classes and the modifications allowed in those. They are a lot more free than the stock classes. In 2010, there is going to be a new STR (Street Touring Roadster) class for Miatas, S2000s, etc. that you may want to participate in... This allows you to compete against other folks on street tires without having to go through the expense of race rubber. For me, I'm a big fan of race tires because the extra speed you can carry, the MUCH faster deceleration, and overall g-forces you get to experience are just so much fun, but to each their own. ;-)
