Default Texas S2K Gear Install Question

Hey guys. I will be getting an S2000 soon and am a little bit confused with the whole gear install. After research it seems like the most cost-effective way is to go with 4.57 Richmond gears from Rick's and get the OEM installation kit and Yellow Box.

Do any of you know of a reputable shop in either San Antonio, Houston or Austin that can do this gear install.

I figure it will be about $1300 for everything. Am I warm or not?

Thanks!

If you're ordering the full set of gears with the housing enclosed and you just have to send back your core, you can get it done just about anywhere. The install takes less than an hour for most shops. I'm not sure about San Antonio's selection of S2K shops, but there are a few in Austin that can do the job well.

Just curious, Which are the shops in Austin?
And, for reference (so I don't get ripped off), how much should the install cost roughly?

I think AC had his done at JC Automotive Specialist, they did my LSD install on my Prelude when I had it, and John(the J in JC) is an exceptional mechanic. I have always been happy with their work.

If you call them, talk to Dan, and tell him Drew sent you.

This is the part I am confused on. From the research I have done, I only saw core charge talked about with the Comptech reinforced differential. Are you saying you can actually order the gears basically already in the housing? I didn't see anything like this when using Rick's website.

Thanks for the answers so far guys. I look forward to meeting the Texas S2000 owners

Yeah that's how AC ordered his. Its the full chunk with the Comptech reinforced housing and the ring and pinion already installed. Its like $1300 I think after the core charge. If you call Rick's they can fill you in.
