Have you all noticed the ample supply of S2000's sitting on used car lots?

Between the two used car lots on my side of town, there are 5 S2000's for sale.
That seems like a lot to me.
Why so many?

It must be hard to sell a used S2000.

The prices they are being advertised at are too high. Dealers falsely believe they can still get a high markup on this car, when the new ones are selling close to MSRP.

Maybe they'll wise up soon.

The first time I had my car serviced I noticed that they had a couple of used S2000s for sale at ridiculous prices. When I inquired as to why these practically brand new cars were already on the used market, I was told that the buyers thought they rode too rough for their tastes.

So basically, people who had no experience owning a sportscar bought the newest thing available and later regretted their choice. A classic case of buyer's remorse, I'd say.

What kind of prices are they asking? I was wondering what the market is like here because I too may be selling.

The place on 620 between 2222 and 183 is called Apple sport imports, I think. I saw a used red one there while driving by the other day. Incidentally, that's also where I test drove the S2000 for the first and only time while waiting on mine to come in at MSRP in Fort Worth...

One of the dealerships is Apple Sport Imports. They 2 2001 S2000s (one blk one red) both with less than 2000 mile and theyu are asking 33995 for each. Hmmmm.... let see a used 2001 for 33995 or a new 2002 for MSRP.... I don't think they will get the prices they are asking for, but you can usually haggle 1500 to 2000 off the price at a used car lot.

Yes. Apple sport imports... I was trying to re-call there name.
And, they have added a yellow to that list (one black one red and one yellow). The red one has been sitting there for a very very long time. I have never actually stopped and talked to the people there, but I drive by there all the time and have watched that red one sit there for a long time.

What about this one? Has 26K miles and still asking almost $34K. I think this one is at David McDavid Acura.
