Default Window Tint Recommendations

Hey all, my S was tinted by the previous owner but I'm thinking about getting the Miata tinted for the long drives to/from the track. I searched in this sub forum and found the Mother's Window Tint on Military Drive to be a really bad location. I've checked with A1 Glass Tinting on Pat Booker and they wanted $199 + tax for their Basic tint. I talked with Daddy's on Huebner and they only sell 1 type of tint and wanted $239. It's a small f'ing car, why are these people charging outrageous prices?? Solarize tint, where my brother got his Civic done has 2 options: (1) $99 for 35% tint all around or (2) $169 for their "High Performance" tint and lifetime warranty.

It's going to be a track car mainly so I just need it to reject heat for getting me to/from events and keep it somewhat cooler in the summer. Any recommendations in San Antonio that don't break the wallet but are of decent quality?

Thats a normal price. Buy the $99 tint and it'll be purple in a couple years.

Don't do it at Daddy's. They were recommended to me and they did a horrible job, looked like a 3 year old cut it with scissors. No straight lines and lots of bubbles that never really went away. Not to mentions slicing up the seals on the outside of the windows.

Unfortunately, getting tint in SA, you DON'T always get what you pay for. Had a terrible time at Custom Sounds when we got out IS250 tinted, bubbles, tint peeled after a week, cut weatherstrip....took three times and an installer from Austin to get it right. Took my Tacoma to Terry Wilson and was very satisfied. He's retired Air Force, works alone, has lots of comercial contracts. I expected less quality for the price and location of his shop, but I am very happy with his work. My sister in law had her 09 TL done there. Looks great. Plus he's a really nice guy, straight shooter.
