A friend of mine bought a Z3 last year and has been giving me a bunch of trash talk including, but not limited to how he can spank a vette and that S2k's are just like Miatas. I've never gone head to head with a Z3, but I thought the S2k performance was closer to the M3 and that the Z3 would not be much competition. Give me some feedback.

 

Z3 isn't much, but really.. if he can beat a vette, it must be a mid-70's vette and not a C5. besides.. who cares? he's trying to justify his purchase over yours. there's nothing wrong w/a Z3 but its not an M-Roadster nor an M-Coupe, which is actually a lot more powerful. On the track, the Z3 doesn't come close.

 

Sounds like its time to break out the cash....

Take him on! He's obviously talking without the benefit of having done some research, so challenge him and enjoy handing him his hat!

 

S2KDDS, I might be down in San Antonio in the next few weeks. If you don't want to race him, tell him to wait cause he'll have competition...

Let me know when you're in town. I'll dig up a few owners and we'll have some BBQ at Grady's or Casey's. Maybe not Opie's or Cooper's, but pretty good. By the way, where does your dad practice?

 

I have a great example from this morning. I was on the freeway and a WRX and I were just cruising along and started having fun upping our speed. A Z3 thought i'd be fun and joined in. Me and the WRX dropped a gear and flew away leaving the z3 way, way in the dust......z3's except for the M are sllllllllllllllllllllooooww!

In fact they are more like miatas performance wise than s2000.
