hahaha, I didn't mean where the alarm brain was mounted, but the prox sensor. Personally, I'm not technical enough to disarm an alarm that way, but Interpid makes a good point about trust. We all know each other here so it's pretty cool. But mainly I asked because the location of the prox sensor could also trigger false alarms. Any number of things could lead a prox sensor to go off. I find that on a hot summer day, if you had the ac on and when you park in the sun, the alarm might go off from the temp difference. I don't understand this because most prox work like a radar and not an infared sensor. OO well beats me, I think your best bet is to bring it back to your installer and have them check it out.

all i know is that its annoying as hell to drag urself outta bed in the middle of the night and run down the stairs when ur barely concious haha.
Do you know how to bypass the prox sensor without diasarming the alarm? That's what I do when I'm parked in an area where there's alot of traffic. What kind of alarm do you have? If you have a Clifford Concept series I can show you how to do that.

That's interesting, I wasn't aware of that. I wonder if there's something about a sharp temperature gradient that the prox sensor can detect? I know this is a different kind of thing but I've read that submarine sonar has a hard time "seeing" through a thermocline. The boundary formed between two layers of water that have significantly different temps. The sound waves will tend to bounce off of this temperature line instead of passing through it.

Just a thought......?
