Default Caliper Powdercaoting

Does anybody know of a place I can just drive my car to and get it done? I don't want to have to deal with a brake shop AND the powdercoating place. Thanks!

you have to remove the calipers to get it done, and it'll cost you about $300 plus installation to get them powdercoated.

i'd suggest going through rick's signature accessories.

I found a place that will do it for $100 here in Houston (including blasting the calipers clean), its just that I'm not mecanically inclined enough to take them off myself. I'm not going to spend the $300 to get rick to do it when its one third the price and I can get it done in one day.

I have seen Rick's however, and he does do a superior job.

You'll need a caliper rebuild kit as well. $21.13 for the fronts and $22.03 for the rears (h and a prices). You also have to consider in Rick's price that you're paying for not having to go without your car for the 3-5 days it takes to get something powdercoated (good luck getting them to deliver on that "one day"). If you consider that, it's not so pricey.

Just FYI, this is a standard procedure before powder coating something.

Thanks for the info Wes, I guess I'm in a little over my head right with all of this. I just really don't want to have to resort to painting them

yes, painting sucks, 'cause it chips.

you probably won't find a place that'll do it for less than $300 with a core.

Painting will look good for 6 months to a year...then it'll just start to fade and stuff. I never really had any chips, it just stopped looking as good.
