Default Cell phone use while driving

New law that just got passed, I guess.

Texas House Bill 281 - cell phone use in cars - effective 9/1/03

Sec. 545.425. USE OF TELEPHONE; OFFENSE.

(a) An operator may not use a telephone while operating a motor vehicle unless:

(1) the vehicle is stopped; or
(2) the telephone is used without use of either of the operator

This bill did NOT pass. It was referred to the House State Affairs committee on 2/6/03 and was left pending on 3/3/03.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that using a cell-phone while driving is safe, however.

This is just some "listen too me I have something to "b" about subject" and I wish it would go away.

Whats next, no eating and driving, no talking to the rugrats fighting in the backseat and driving, no shaving/putting on makeup and driving, this list could go on and on and on and .............

The bottom line is, driving is a skill that should be taken seriously, and if you can not balance the skill of driving and any other task at the same time, DON'T. Do one thing at a time, and do it safely.

In stead of focusing on this BS, lets work on getting the people that can't, drive while driving off the street.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

i am a handfree user about 98% of the time. Sometimes I forget it. I figure if you are going to talk, then at least use it. I mean it seems almost everyone on the road is talking on the phone. Not everyone on the road is eating, putting on make up, etc. at the same time. Just look around, a lot of phones at one time on the same roads. Is it that hard to use hands-free, i think not. But oh wells...I just avoid people that don't.
