Change 55 back to 70 by June!
I just saw on Ch. 2 news that the city council is voting IN JUNE to change the speed limits back to 70 and find alternative ways to reduce polution! Anyone that has more info, post it here and lets all do what we can to support the effort!!! HOUSTOOKS UNITE!
Our Tax money hard at work. I wonder how much that cost them. Make up new signs for all the freeways that are 55, then change them back to 70. Geez.... I hope they back charge the moron who changed them in the first place.

What's funny is while I was at my dealership today waiting for the GM to talk to my dad, I was scouring this little book about gas mileage and pollution booklet. You know that they charge sedans, sports cars, basically anything not considered a truck a guzzler tax if it has less than or equal to 16 mpg. I saw that the MB s500 gets only 16 and is charged the guzzler while the s430 (420?) gets 17 so it's exempt from it. That really pisses me off when they should be charging the guzzler on SUV and trucks in teh first place when they mostly get less the 16 anyways. What aggravates me more is, the fact the politicians probably drive SUV's or trucks in the first place so we can't do anything anyways.
Anyone agree with me when they should charge the SUV/Truck guzzler tax in order to encourage a few people into buying something more enviromentally friendly?

I suspect the SUV loophole is why the family station wagon(a "passenger car") has all but disappeared to make way for the SUV.

Bad news though - on Fox last night they said that the police are gearing up for a speeding crackdown in May.
yeup, and the emissions will be next to get the hatchet. just remember my post from before - some politician gets approved to spend X amount of dollars on plans that aren't proven, tested, and basically haphazardly theorized.
