Default Cheapest way to gain power

Until I have enough $$$ to put a turbo or supercharger kit on, I want to add power as cost-effectively as possible. Please post any reletively inexpensive add-ons that have noticably increased your power.

THANKS!!!

The cheapest may be NOS, if you want to go that route. Other than the either a CAI or VAFC.

NOS is the most cost effective but has life threatening possibilities. I sure miss that stuff.

Thanks you guys! I have heard that the K&N acutally reduces HP. That would suck. I'll give the JR a shot.

NOS is like harowin. A lot of fun while your on it but the damage is not worth the high.

Has anyone ever used an octaine booster or fuel additive with noticable results?

On any back to back dyno run you can vary 2-5 HP, so I don't really listen to what people's dyno's showed w/ new filter - since it's usually between 2-5 HP. Although, it only takes an understaning of the way the car works to know that better air flow should produce more power. So, I think filters work, I just think it's hard to measure, even on a dyno.

I tried some octane booster last week even though I knew it shouldn't do a darn thing for the car, and it didn't do a darn thing for the car...I just wanted to say I tried it.

It's not easy to get cheap performance out of our car, so I don't really have much to recommend. Apart from FI/NOS, exhuast and VAFC seem to do the most, but then again, they don't do all that much.
