Default Check Engine Light- Pls. Help

This is maybe the third time that this has happened now, but here's what's up. Sometimes after I get gas, immediately afterwards the check engine light comes on. I know about the "turn the gas cap 3 times" thing, but this doesn't seem to be it. I took it to JEH once when this happened and they said that the computer recorded a few random "miss fires". They just reset the light and told me not to worry about it. The details are as follows:

1.) All scheduled services have been performed.
2.) I always use Super Unleaded.
3.) The oil gets changed every 3k miles
4.) I'm not the type that's drag racing out there neither.

So, my question is, what give's. Has anyone had this happen or something similar. If so, what's the cause of this? Thanks in advance guys.

take it to Autozone and let them hook it up and see what code they get, all it will cost you is some time.

Or take it to C & C Northside motors, but they will charge you, but they do very good work.

Thanks for the suggestion Coop. I actually took it to AutoZone the first time and their little computer said the same thing "Miss Fire". They told me to take it to Honda to see what they say. That's when I took it to JEH. I had the spark plugs done a while back so, I really don't know what could be causing a miss fire.

That's correct. If JEH won't do anything about it, take it to another dealership. I've found out that certain dealerships will work with you more than others.

The next time you take it in, be sure and have them give you the numeric code that is causing the Check Engine Light. That will tell you which cylinder(s) is misfiring. I had the same thing happen to me and it ended up being bad/clogged injectors. JEH took a month to diagnose it and give my car back. I was quite unhappy with the whole troubleshooting thing.

It could still be the gas cap. A few have reported bad gas caps and this "could" mimic a temporary misfire code. Try a new gas cap. They're not that expensive.
