Default Coilover Suggestions?

Hey guys need some advice. I posted this in Alex's original thread but figured it be more suitable in a thread all its own anyways.
I'm needing to decide which types of coilovers to get. The s will be daily driven but I hope to make it out to as many track/autoX meets as possible. From all my reading I'm debating between these three:

KW Variant 3
Buddy Clubs
Apex'i N1

The Apex'i are perfectly in my price bracket, but I could swing the KW's (the most expensive) and just put off a few things for a few weeks/months. I'm trying to get the car back up and running before HIN so I can drive it up there.

Any input? Thanks guys!!

I love my Mugens. Car rides like it's on rails at the track. Joe has some Buddy Clubs and he loves it for the track too. I've heard great things about the KW Variants. Dunno anybody with the Apexi.

There are two different buddy clubs. If you are going to track it then I'd recommend the race spec. If not, then get the n+. KW Variant III is the top choice out of the three which is reflected in the pricing.

Thanks for the input guys. Tom...haha I wish my pocket book was thick enough to afford the Mugens (one of these days ) But, I have heard great things about them, just a tick out of my price range.

I'm starting to really lean towards the KW Variant's. I guess my logic is starting to sway more towards, do it right the first time and be done with it. I'm juggling a few different projects all at the same time (RE: turbo, body work, & paint) and just trying to make sure I allocate my resources effectively.
Translation... I'm broke and trying to decide which of the three I should do and to what extent

I can get the KW's for 1700 which I can swing and the BCs (racing spec) I'm looking at 1400.

I guess another aspect that I'm looking at is the fact that this will be the first car that I've ever tracked so I don't know much about suspension setups and it seems like an 'infinite' amount of adjust ability may just hender me instead of helping me.

I've gotta decide quick though, since these have got to go on before HIN!

too bad time's not on your side. Find some used Mugen/Showa coilovers. I liked the Spoon/Showa coils I had on my blue car too. Bought it used (10k miles) for $1200

Well, whatever suspension you decide on. Make sure its aligned and corner balanced. The best suspension will render useless if not dialed in correctly.

If those are only choices, do it well.........KW3's. if it's only a few hundred more than the other choices, why not get the best right? Personally I hate the mugen coilovers as daily. I get a headache when i sit in Tom's can tell they ride like rails around an apex doing 78mph's. Of the few suspension I've had, by far my favorite are my current set up : Zeal's S6's. They're so much more agile than my JIC's, lighter, and has may settings for the dampers.

good luck!

Thanks for the input John & Tom. I really started thinking about it and I said to myself "I really don't want to skimp, especially since I'd like to track the car" so in the process at looking at morton coilovers on King Moto. I ran across these:
http://www.kingmotorsports.com/category.as...at=12&pagenum=2
Second item down. The Threaded Sleave Perch is what had "seized" itself on the old damper.

My question to you guys is, would that fit on the s? If it would I could purchase that, install it, and then wait to build up some extra funds to purchase a very nice setup versus, skimping on it now, just to inevitably sell it down the road to purchase a nicer set.

Would that work? I.e. would it fit, etc.

Definitely sound advice. Buy what you really want and the price point is not too far apart. Zeals are $$$! Let me know if you want to order those as there is a local seller whom may get you a better deal on a new set.
