Default Compression fail, Need Advice

Whats up everyone. New to the forums here as I recently just purchased an 02 s2k with about 64k miles on it a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, long story short, cyl #3 is shot and I need to decide if I want to replace or rebuild.

Car is currently with Curt at C&C/TrackTime Performance and we are both actively looking for a solution. I have spoke with a few of you local houston-ites but figured I would post this to any and all.

Little bit info about the car, its a 2002 with 64k miles on it. I bought it of a guy in Clearlake whom had said the car had been sitting for a while as it was his 2nd vehicle and he didn't really drive it, etc etc. I am pretty technical when it comes to knowing what to look for when buying a used vehicle, but honestly did not see this coming. I drove it, listened to it, crawled under it, everything seemed to be OK. Bought it after a few test drives and was on my way. 2-3 weeks after buying, turn her on and valve chatter like a SOB. I took it to Spring Branch Honda and had them do a valve adjustment. They did the vales 3 separate times but still heard some noise so went ahead and did a compression / leak down test. They call me with the bad news that they did a compression test on it and the numbers were :

C1 - 165
C2 - 165
C3 - 100
c4 - 165

All look low, but 3 was shot. Also said air was going into the crank. They wanted to replace the motor for some obscene amount, so I got the car back and started looking on here. I got in contact with Curt and took it up to him early last week. He dug into it but found the same results, stuck a borescope in and looks like I have some pretty ugly scoring within the cylinder due to a spun bearing some time ago.

So, currently looking for either a reputable shop locally that can possibly bore or if anyone has a spare F20c block laying around (jk but not really). I am hesitant to just buy a used motor and drop it in as I dont know the condition of the motor until I crank it on. Just trying to get some advice from some knowledgeable people. I want to get this damn thing back on the road!

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

D.K.
