Forced induction or 2.4 stroker inspection
I am thinking of getting a 2.4 stroker kit or go FI but of course both require a standalone and bigger injectors. My car is an AP1 so flashpro is out of the question so Im leaning towards an AEM ems.
The question is how do you pas inspection every year? I have read that you can switch to the stock ecu, get it inspected and then put the ems back on. Of course this would work on a car with just bolt ons but if you are FI or stroked I don't see how you could drive it to the inspection place. Of course I could just drive it there and then make the switch but would the car even start with bigger injectors on stock ECU? how do people get away with this?

Drive to Beaumont or some other county that doesn't do the emissions testing. Its a county by county thing whether or not the emissions test is required to pass and in Beaumont it's not. I have several friends from Houston that come here for inspections.
I am looking for some help on this topic also. I have AEM S2 and no cat for FI. I took it to a small town shop (Taft, tx) and he saw the car was registered in Harris county so he wouldn't do it without me filling out an affidavit saying I would have it reinspected in Houston. apparently they are cracking down on this more around here as the other shops I have gotten away with this with are not in business or not doing inspections anymore.
Can I plug in the stock ecu and safely drive around have a s/c, injectors, etc? I was also going to break down and just buy a HFC to pass.
if anyone has a shop they recommend so I don't have to do these things I would appreciate it. I live south of downtown.

i still could not figure it out. i just plug in the stock ecu, drive for 50 miles and go but im not stroked or FI yet, just no cat. i did the CEL fix with the antifouler plugs so that doesnt come on
With the OBDII inspection, they don't put a sniffer in the exhaust. It goes strictly by the CEL. So if your CEL is off, and you don't have any other warning lights on your dash, it should pass no problem.
