When I picked up my car last week, the salesman threw the license plate bracket in the trunk because he said "no one who buys these cars puts the front plate on anyhow". I moved here in 1982 and owned a 280ZX at the time. Had no plate then or since. Have been stopped a few times, but luckily no one has ever mentioned the front plate. I just tell them to check Joe when they stop me so that they don't look for mine.

I just put on my front plate last week. With all the police "crack downs" in the import scene, I didn't want to give them any reason to give me a ticket (or look for other violations)... plus, the custom plates just came in: "DROWSY" Wanna guess why?

had the s2k since march '01.. 1 ticket and two warnings for not having a front plate.

that ticket combined with no insurance in the car.. had up to date insurance.. just didn't have the papers in the car.. turned into $600 after missing the courtdate

and the damn cop didn't have a front plate!!

i think its just my luck and the car that i had...

got the last one when they cracked brittmore aka shitmore..last month..i was at the wrong place at the wrong time

the jailtime was back in 98..for the court that i missed back in 97..spent 6hrs at richmond city jail before my roomate bail me out

almost all of my no front plate tickets were dismissed..i showed the judge pics of my car with the front plate...but they got smart..youll still get dismissed but the court fee is $40 now

i hate front plate! period

 

While we're on the subject of stupid things we have to have on our cars...how about the inspection and registration stickers that take up 1/3 of our little windshields? I know they moved to window stickers to avoid theft (and I also know someone that used to propogate said theft) but, sheesh, if the cops are so blind they need HUGE stickers to see if we're up to date how could they read the speed detector when I'm cruising 130 down the freeway!

By the way, just kidding about the cop thing. I've got lots of friends of the family that are good guys and gals just doing their jobs. Fortunately none of them are the suspect-beaters that seem to be on the news all the time again!
