FS: 42" Plasma
I'm probably going to accept a job in West Palm Beach, FL within the next week or two ... so that means in ~1month i should be moving out there.
It will be really really expensive to ship my plasma out there and a huge hassle ontop of that ... so i was thinking of selling it locally. If anybody wants to buy it or knows anybody that wants to buy it.
A quick rundown of the display:
It's the Panasonic TH-42PWD6UY. It's a industial model which means that it does not have speakers or a built in tuner. So, you would need a HT audio set up and a satellite or cable receiver.
The display is about 5-6 months old with about 900 hours or so on it (I can open up the service menu and check for the exact amount). This display's 1/2 life is rated at 25-30k hours. At 4-6 hours per day thats like ~17ish years for 1/2 brightness. No dead pixels. Exterior is in perfect condition, no scratches, etc. It's already calibrated on all of the inputs (if you paid somebody to do this, it would probably cost 200-300). It's an ED plasma (852x480 resolution), but it still accepts a 1080i signal. The difference between this and an HD plasma (1028x768 resolution) is that you need to sit about 1-2 ft further from the screen to not see a screen door effect. Recommended viewing distance is 7-8ft.
Connections are via BNC connectors, i have BNC/RCA adapters for whomever buys the set. There is:
1 15-pin VGA (used as either a component connection or as VGA to hook your computer up to it)
1 S-Video/Composite (you can only use one or the other, composite will provide a better picture over S-Video on this set for SD cable)
1 Component connection
There is an expansion slot on the display, so uou can also buy an additional component/DVI card. You would also need to buy a table stand or wall mount (!$150); I will be taking my table stand b/c i will purchase the same display when i get to FL!
If you check out the Plasma/LCD section on avsforum.com this is the most preferred/recommended plasma for the money.
Retail on this set is $4k. You can buy it online for about $~2500-2600 shipped. I'd like to try and sell it for about $2300 locally.
Some pics a avsforum member took of his 4UY (2 generations earlier, mine looks better!
