High Cold Start Idle Problem Continued
I want to follow up on my previous post concerning excessive cold start idle RPM's with my 06 S-2000. (minimum 2000 RPM, higher in colder weather) I have attempted to have Honda Customer Service address this issue for the past 8 months. On two previous attempts with two different Houston Honda dealers, one claimed that they could not duplicate the issue. The other said the high idle was normal but could not produce a specification to back up their claim.
With the recent problems Toyota has been experiencing, I felt the time was right to push this issue with Honda Customer Service. My approach was simple. This is a Safety Issue that could result in an accident and or injury. This time my certified letter hit home. I was contacted by Honda Customer Service this week and informed that I could bring the car in for immediate service. Honda also stated that they would do whatever was necessary to repair the problem.
Currently my vehicle is at Russell and Smith Honda where I left it Wednesday morning. No word on the solution to this issue yet. I will post again when I know what corrective action was taken to repair this defect.

Threads similar to this have popped up quite a few times and it seems that *everyone is experiencing it. I have an 08' that idles high at first start... even higher than 2k in cold weather, but quickly drops after the 1-2 heat bar. My previous cars did the same and my dd does so as well; of course not as noticeable due to lower rpm range. Unless I'm missing something, I think you are giving yourself a headache over nothing.
Ahem.... I would just like to say Oh Em Gee. ^ He is pretty right... Stick to the motto, "NO Light, NO Problem".... Unless you feel like it's affecting your performance, there's really no issue. By the way, "safety hazzard"...?
