I need some help.
As some of you may, or may not, know, I got in a wreck about two months ago. I got the car back and noticed that it was a little rough but thought it was from not being in it for 40 days. (waiting on parts and such) Then the next night, I'm about two miles from the house and *POP*, and the car shakes. I step out HOPING to see a flat tire. No flat tire.
Had it towed back to the body shop and had the estimator look at it. It seems as though the rear drive and the axel bearing went KAPUT!
Now here's my dilemma. It was a front end accident. The insurance company has told me that the will not cover the damage. I have appealed and awaiting a call from the insurance company.
The rest that I will be explaining, I don't fully understand so excuse my ignorance.
The axle bearing <?> did not get any lubrication therefore it went out with the rear drive. They say it is due to lack of maintenance. I don't believe this is the case.
My question...what should I tell the insurance company in order for them to cover it?
I know I'm screwing up this story somehow.

I actually work for a rather large insurance firm. The more paperwork you have on your side, the better (of course). If you've had any recent work, maintenance, inspections done on your S2K, prior to accident, this will be most beneficial, as you need to provide proof that your vehicle was good working condition prior to the accident.
Also, I probably shouldn't be telling you this, but it seems you're getting screwed, so either -
A) get a free initial legal consultation with a lawyer that specializes in auto insurance claims or;
B) simply claim to your insurance carrier that you have inquired into/hired a legal advisor/have a family lawyer or whatever, because:
almost over 90% of the time, it will cost a carrier more to defend itself against a case than to simply settle or pay for the damage, which is why we see so many settlements on TV. It's usually the insurance company that will request the settlement just to make you go away. Sad, but true.
Also, what carrier do you have, so I don't ever sign up with them???

My last resort is to retain Johnny Cochran to use his famous Chewbacca tactic.
If this is a rear wheel bearing failure, Honda took care of mine under warranty. I brought it in when it was squeaking, but it was still functioning. They were able to recreate the problem and replace the bearing and the hub assembly. You should talk to Hory Hebert, sounds like "Ory Abear", at Honda Clear Lake and see what he can offer you. He worked with me on every problem I brought in.
Good luck.
Good luck.
