Most shop I know that charge like around $150-$200 so this place is the cheapest place that I know of.

Keep us posted!
Well guys, I looked at my options this weekend and ended sealing the cracks with an off the shelf repair kit. The air bubbles are gone and the pits are filled, but the cracks are still visible. The plan is to wait until next April when both my stickers expire, then order a Gentex mirror and have everything replaced when the new glass is put in.

Thanks again for all the tips!

Ahh good deal man. Its almost impossible to escape chipped/cracked windshields in Houston. Glad you got a temp fix meanwhile.

Be careful with those "cheap" windshields...

There are regulations to the thickness of windshields. Usually those "cheap" windshields use a much thinner layer of glass and much thicker plastic. This makes for a weaker windshield. In a lot of cases, the companies offering cheap windshield replacements are paying their employees $8-10 / hour. You can imagine what kind of quality job they will do...

No thanks.

I'm going to start shopping for an auto-dimming mirror (good time for me to get that installed)
I'd definitely recommend one. Makes a huge difference in driving the S at night.

I loved the one I had in my Lexus. It is a great feature. Still get blinded from the side mirrors but nothing a little tint can't fix.

More information please, what's the cost and where do you go to get that? I haven't changed my windshield that has had a line cracked and bullet shots the past 2 years but this sounds good to me.
I thought he was referring to the auto dimming rear view mirror?

They're sold from various retailers online, but I'll most likely grab one on eBay. You can see a complete lineup of the Gentex brand mirrors on the site here. Price of course depends on which features you want included.
