WHEN: 2-day festivus for the rest of us.
JULY 19th - 11AM-3PM: BBQ/Car Show
Show starts at 11AM. Judging starts at 11AM, ends at 1:30PM. Award ceremony at 2:00PM.
JULY 19th - 8:30PM: BW3 Dinner
JULY 20th - 8:45AM: Lone Star LaGrange Drive

JULY 20th: Lone Star LaGrange Drive. If you are interested in this drive, please PM medicalstudent, Presidente, or ScorpioXI. Let us know as soon as possible as we will cap the drive at 25 cars. This will be a 4-hour drive. Drive hosted by the Lone Star Drive Committee. Everyone needs to meet up at McDonald's on Mason Road @ I-10 near Katy. Drivers meeting will start at 8:45AM sharp. If you miss the Driver's Meeting, you will NOT be allowed to participate in the Drive. Further details and maps to be announced at the carshow on the 19th and the morning of the 20th.

WHY: We did it last year, time to play again :martini2: Great time for Lone Star and S2KCA members to renew! Even a better time for those on the fence to join in our year-long party! Also a great opportunity for the Houston S2000 community to get together. And a great excuse to have an all-state Texas S2000 Meet: S2KCA-Austin Chapter, S2KCA-Dallas/Ft Worth Chapter, S2KI-Houstooks, S2KI-North Texas, S2KI-Centex, S2KI-ArkLaTex, S2KI-New Orleans, S2KI-Oklahoma, and anyone else who dares venture from afar:thumbup:

BORING DISCLAIMER:
Rules for the meet:
1) Irresponsible behaviour will either get you an arse-kicking or arrested. No questions asked.
2) No drugs. No drunken driving.
3) No revving your engines or sounding your car horns.
4) No loud music except for the band and the DJ. (please keep it at a respectful level)
5) Please watch your speed as you enter and exit the parking lot.
6) Please watch your trash. If you need to throw something away, please place in the dumpster or trash-cans. Do not leave trash on the ground.
7) There will be some non-S2000s (we welcome all kinds of cars). Please respect each other.
8) No street racing at or near the event.
9) No burn/peel outs. No drifting.
10) No speeding in the parking lot!
11) Sponsors have top priority!

It's really unfortunate that you guys planned this the same weekend as one of the Southwest Region SCCA Divisional event in Houston. There are going to be a lot of people that likely won't go because of that.

Forgive me for the n00b questions, but is there a cost for this event? I see that there is judging... is this a formal "show?" I just bought this car because my awesome integra was stolen and stripped for parts... this car is completely stock :sadwave: Will I be the only one?

I'm definitely down for meeting some people... hell I just moved here from NJ I don't even know ANYONE in Houston... either way, I would love to come, but more info would be appreciated :)

Most people will be stock as well. I will post the categories later, but it boils down to a mild (stock or few mods) categories and a wild (more mods) category.

There is no cost to enter. We'll have BBQ and drinks at a small cost if you're hungry/thirsty.

Wow! What an opportunity for me to bring my s2k to an event! I am moving this weekend from Philly to Houston - towing the s2k down.

Is the lowest mileage award relative to the age of the car? Or, is it just lowest mileage, period? I think my s/o and I will go out for dinner too. Not sure yet.

So, can I get the award for the longest distance attendee? :LOL:

not sure what Tom might have planned for the awards, but we do not have a trophy for high or low mileage, there are only 10 trophies to be given out that Greg & I made. Tom might have something else to give away ????????????????? or he needs to update the first post.

The trophies are for the Best Ofs & Specialties Awards. The JustForFun awards (like mileage, etc...) will be awarded with certificates.

I'm not on the judging committee, that'll be up to them ;)

You can add a +1 to my name. However, I will only be going for the car show part. The s/o had already made plans for us in the evening. My car will be the only one there sporting this kind of license plate (yes, the car is registered in FL - only one plate required and no inspections of any type! :p). Plus, the animal friendly part got me out of one ticket so far. :D

Im down. you dont have to be entered in the show do you? i just got my s2k and its pretty stock right now...

there's a stock-ish category and it's free anyway ;) Most people are just there to hang out and have a good time. Only thing that costs money is the food if you want to eat.

I *might* come on the 19th, but i have to leave early, not sure yet.

Well I am 99% sure my S2000 will not be there. I got it back yesterday and the repairs were not to my liking... I had to bring it back there this morning, and I doubt they will have it done by this weekend. :(

Well it won't be my teggy... it's still in pieces, but it will be the boyfriend's teggy. Hopefully he will either A- want to go or B- let me take it for the day :D
