Default Need suggestion with tires.

It's that time again for some new tires and I would like some personal experience on tires you guys have.

The ones I have now are the Bridgestone Potenza Re-11 and I love them however they didn't last long, not even a year. As a broke student, I'm looking for something with a little more thread wear and probably quiet comfortable ride. Yes, I am willing to sacrifice some traction for it.

Any suggestions? BTW stock wheels and stock suspension (for now).

Appreciate the help guys.

Just to note, the star spec have a tread wear rating of 200 and the re-11s have a rating of 180. I wouldn't expect much more life in them. I have used Fuzion ZRi tires on my AP1 however I used 225/50 F and 245/45 R they are a little on thin the side. I liked them and have nothing bad to say about them why not consider Dunlop Direzza DZ101 they are summer tires and have a 300 UTQG rating. Seem reasonably priced. Just my thoughts.

How do they compare to Yokohama S Drive?
Its a good street/track tire. Your yok s drives serve a better purpose for you which is mostly daily driving. The wear on the bridgestone and the dunlops are still quite fast. Dunlops are cheaper than the bridgestones though.

Thanks for the suggestion. Only downside is the thread wear.

I can't afford to change tires every 6-7 months.

Are the Yoko S Drive quiet and comfortable?

I was skeptical about the Star Specs initially, but these are the best street tires I've ever driven on. They're almost as good as some of my R-compound race tires I've used on the track.

Since you drive so often, you probably won't notice much difference with any lesser tire...until it rains
