Default Open Top Stock Intake Box

Washed the new S2K with Stryder9 yesterday. Before taking the drive to Kemah we took off the stock intake box cover. Car sounds like a beast now and seems to pull a bit harder. My question is as follows:

If I buy the JDB C/F intake will it still have that mean slurpy sound or should I go with the K&N. Also until I make up my mind is it safe to roll around with the top off the factory air box or should I put it back on?

The Honda intake design is perfect as is with the cover on.

As soon as you took that cover off you just made yourself a custom HOT air intake.

So what is the best application if I do not want to put a drop cold air intake on my car. I love the deep tone with the box open.

If you want a deep tone without getting a cold air then get an exhaust or something.Running around without the cover just for the sound is really hurting your car.Hence they make cold air intakes not hot air intakes.

Removing the airbox cover has no positive effects, I would not remove it.
