I was pulled over on Hempstead HWY( right before 290 and Hwy 6) by no other than a State Trooper. He saw me coming because he was parked waiting for a prey I guess. As I passed him he pulled out and got behind me and flashed his lights and siren.

Trooper: Approaches behind my S and says, "Get out of the vehicle slowly."

Me: Turned off the car, got out, and stated, " Yes Sir." At this point I extended my hand to greet him but was denied. I looked like a fool with my hand extended but at least he did not think I was going for his gun.

Trooper: "I pulled you over for not having your front lisc. plate. This is a 2 PLATE STATE and you have to have one in the front also. Why do you not have one?"

Me: "It never came with a bracket."

Trooper: " Well, if they do not supply you with one, you have to get one yourself." I will give you a warning this time. You live around here?"

Me: "Yes Sir."

Trooper: "Now I know you. Next time I see you with no front plates, you will get a ticket. Your the only one with a bright yellow car around here and I will catch you."

Me: "Thank you."

Hopped back in and left.

I thought that law passed with not needing a front plate in Tx?

Well, I'm thinking about getting the RICKS lisc plate bracket(Backyard copy). Anyone here have one on theirs? Can I get any feedback? Anyone want to sell theirs?

 

Seeing as you have a 2005, go to your honda dealership and tell them they need to give you one.

As far as the law passed, I have no idea... :/

I have mine somewhere, and if it pops up you can just have it. Maybe pick up my dinner tab or something

 

I think that law passed in the House, but not in the Senate. So it's not in force (yet).

 

don't mess w/the state poopers up there.... they are dicks and the court up there is corrupt and they will charge you will their interpretation of the law. dont get me started......

According to past threads, the NoFrontPlate law was not passed during the last session.

I've had the authentic(overpriced) Backyard copy and it works great.

do you have a hardtop with your spa ? i've seen a hardtop spa around that area. Since i live right there.

 

It's actually a Rio but yea, I do have a hardtop. I've seen a Spa with a big black ADVAN sticker on the front bumper and an 05 GPW with HT and front lip. I always honk or wave but they don't notice.
