Single = loud

Can't say as I recall what a tanabe sounds like. But if you want a single then the two quietest made are the Amuse Extra Titan ($2000+) and the T1R 63mm ($800).

Someone in Houston must have a T1R 63mm...find them and ride in their car before you buy.

i have the t1r 63mm, the loudness doesn't bother me at all, but if you have to make a 1.5hr+ trip to san antonio or beaumont or something, it sucks ass. cruising at any given speed up to 60-65mph is no problem at all, once you start going 80mph or so that's where it starts to get to you after listening to it for a really long period of time.

If the top is down, you hardly notice exhaust sounds

install it yourself man! it's just some bolts and hangers. just jack up the car, probably hve someone to help you hold the thing up so you don't scratch it up.
