Just to let you know, KBB trade in at Good condition is what most dealers go by when they take in trades.
By that standard, they probably offered you around $14.8k

I come up with 15.9k when I enter the miles and options on kbb.com.

Much like anybody else...I would like to get a little closer to retail so I will try to sell it to an individual. I don't need to sell it anytime soon but I will if the price is right.

edit: I just caught the part about choosing "good" condition. You are right about the kbb. Those bastards said my car was only good!

I would consider an accident of any sort the most depreciated value.

This will help you, I sold my S2K to Carmax for 14K. Motor tapping, different body kit, blown shocks, etc. No accident though with 66K miles. Missing interior pieces etc.

So what Matt said, it pretty close to estimate of what you probably will get say if you go to Carmax.

use s2000s are everywhere now. so if they give you 17k for it, they will sell it for 20k+ you can buy a new one for a little more rather then a 5 year old car.

resale value sucks.

very true, and that is why i am looking to cut out the middleman and find a buyer myself.

i am in NW Houston (249/1960 mostly) and am willing to meet anyone who wants to check it out closer.

I know somone that may be interested. Its my friend that was going to buy my car but could not come up with the money in time. He is still working on some details and if he can get the loan together, I will send you a pm. Could you pm me a price that you would accept that would be fair to you and my friend? Then I will pass the price on to him and see if he can get the loan for that amount.

I appreciate the feedback:

I would like to sell it within the next few months but I'm not in a hurry to come down real far on the price just yet. I would be consider any offers that come my way though.

The original post has been updated with pictures I took this evening.
