Default Speeding Ticket

My wife got a ticket for speeding last night driving my S2000. She claims she was doing less than the speed limit (35mph on Westheimer @ fountain view). I have a good radar detector in the car and she says it didnt go off. The cop was on the opposite side of the road, he popped a u-turn and turned on his lights. She also claims there were many other cars besides her (westheimer is 6 lanes over there). he wrote her a ticket for going 48mph but there was no way she was going that much. she just got her TX license and its only been a couple of weeks since she has been driving in the US. since she is used to driving on the opposite side of the road, she is very scared to drive and drives SLOW!!. Like so slow that it pisses me off. Im pretty sure the guy didnt even have the radar gun on and just profiled the car. the car has a wing, lowered blah blah blah and apparently he was really surprised to see her driving the car. Is there a way to get out of this one? i told her to go to court and plead not guilty. our insurance is already very high so i really dont want this one to add to this.

Plead not guilty and take it to the judge. If the officer doesn't show (50/50 shot), the case will be dismissed.

That is some bs. Sorry to hear that happened to you and your wife.

Does the ticket state what method was used for determining her "speeding"?

Imo just take the ticket and do defensive driving. Lawyer if you can't take defensive driving. It maybe all be the same though in price if you get a lawyer.

Yep, he'll just reschedule it for a later date and most likely dismiss like my old ticket.
