Default Tire Choices

I would like to hear some opinions and suggestions from those who actually drive their S and not just to meet and then garage it all the time.
I've always had Yokohama S Drive but if there's better out there and fairly priced (maybe better driving experience, last longer, quieter, cheaper but better, etc...), fill me in! If possible, consider car being lowered, OEM wheels vs aftermarket (stretch tires?).

I'm running Nitto Motivos on my rear and have to buy new fronts in weeks or (2) months, so this interests me.

We can do ride alongs if you are serious about wanting to get the feel of different wheels.

Best street tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Amazing in dry and wet, excellent give away characteristics. They also ride really really well and have a 15k warranty of you are staggered and 30k for non-staggered. This means that if you can wear them out faster you get a free replacement. Nothing beats this tire on the street. They even work reasonably well when its cold, unlike some other summer tires i have used.

If you want to autocross or track your car you can try extreme performance tires (hankook rs3's, dunlop Z2 etc.)

I had good experience with the S Drives. They are being discontinued is certain sizes though. Wet traction was good, and dry traction was the best. Road noise wasn't annoying.

So the rear last about 7K miles?

I'm gonna look into pricing for those.

Good deal but not ready to buy them yet, soon though. I've always had 255 40 17 & 225 45 17 on my OEM wheels vs factory spec 245 40 17 & 215 45 17.

Thanks for the input. I'll stay away from those for stretch.

Yeah that's why I always stick with them but since the price went up because of our size, I wanna look into alternatives.

By the way, good site for tire price comparison http://www.tiretab.com/, an s2ki member built it.
