Default Tires

Sooo. I just got a new job at NTB so I can get a pretty decent discount on tires. So I was wondering what you guys use. Or if yall have any suggestions. I dont know whats a good brand or anything. I just wanted something that has good grip and also has a pretty decent life expectancy. Also wanted to know how wide i can go. Right now i have stock AP1 rims and i think i have 255's.

highly doubt you have a 255 tire on a 7.5" wide wheel.

Yoko S. Drives seem to be popular daily drivers because of price / grip. I LOVED my Bridgestone Potenza RE050's but those are fairly pricey and they wear fairy fast. I don't remember what I ran on 16's but 17's I'm on 215 45 / 245 40 I think.

You need to consider much more than just brand. The type of tire matters. Have you read through the Tires and Wheels subforum at all? There are always tire recommendation threads in there and the people asking vary from track junkies to DD'ers looking for the best treadwear.

I run on Star Specs but if you want good tread life you might want to look into all seasons rather than summer tires. As a rule of thumb, treadwear and grip tend to be in opposition to each other. I.e. - you can't max out both but there are some compromises that may suit you.

+1 to this.
I'm on Dunlop Star Specs as well. They're a fantastic tire, and cheap to boot.
