Default Venting - Bad S2000 Driver...

I almost lost it on the way to work, I now understand how people shoot other drivers in traffic.

The Scene: Beltway 8 (feeder) going south on the West side of the Beltway. Just south of the well-known "S" turn that is on the north side of Westheimer / Briar Forest.

The Crime: There is a tollbooth exit on the right-hand side of the street. The tollbooth exit lane has a red YIELD sign which 70% of the drivers ignore, they simply pull out and expect the right-hand lane drivers to slow down for them. Today, to my surprise, someone was actually stopped at the end of the tollbooth lane waiting for a clear lane just like the law directs them to. The problem was that this car was holding up 3-4 more cars who would rather break the law. I simply cannot believe what happened as I traveled in the right-hand lane towards the line of cars. The 3rd car in line, a red S2000 (top down) with a blonde woman driver, decides that it makes a lot of sense for her to pull out of her position in line and pull into my lane, diagnally, to stop traffic for the "timid" car up front!!! I could not believe my eyes. She actually pulled out and came to a stop (roll) right in the middle of my lane! Being a confident / aggressive driver, I continued at my rate of speed (actually speeding up since I just came out of the "S") right towards her. I had just passed a car on my left so I knew I had another lane to work with. I just used his lane as needed to slowly ease over and barely miss the S2000 (on purpose). She did yank her car back a foot or two at the last second when she realized that I wasn't stopping. If I see her again she and I will be on the news.

The Diagram: I made a nifty diagram to describe the incidient.

If anyone knows this driver please take her keys from her, she's going to kill someone...or vice versa.

holy snit. I hear you wes, some people out there are simply UNBELIEVEABLE. I mean did she think she was doing someone a favor? It's amazing what percentage of drivers out there don't know what to do when they see a yield sign.

My b-ball league is on Thursdays now (remember, you called me last Thursday and we had this same discussion?)...maybe we should find a new day for the weekly gossip.
