Default #3710 RIP

My favorite car of all time, 2000 Silver S2000, died an untimely death on Saturday night . I turned right onto the 183/114 access road from Oak Lawn in a light rain and accelerated toward the ramp to the highway. I must have accelerated a bit too hard or was still turning a bit, and managed to swap ends. Just like at the Auto-X, I was bringing her around, no fuss, when I met a tree in the passenger side door. For you info: Trees hit a lot harder than cones. Boy I could have used ONE MORE LANE!!!

Right now I'm slamming down Ibuprofen and keeping an ice pack on my swollen noggin. I'm sore as hell but no major damage to body; but the soul is grieving.

Regards,

Al

Let is know if you need any help pulling the superchager, etc

Did you hop a curb going sideways?

Sorry to hear it Al, but glad you are OK. Something for the rest of us to keep in mind when we feel like pushing the car during the cold / wet season.

Yikes, were you on S02s?

If you want to get rid of your OEM exhaust, LMK.

Glad you are ok and hope that your car is not totaled. Best regards to you.

P.S: let me know if you are parting out the S/C since i am looking for ones..(that if your car is total-lost).

Very sorry to hear about the accident Al, but glad you are doing ok and I hope your swelling and soreness goes away soon. It sounds like it was a pretty hard hit.

Man, Al! I'm glad you're okay. Cars can be fixed or replaced, your health not so much.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I'm in town all week.

Glad to hear you are OK Al! I've nearly swapped ends on my truck in this weather twice (at very low speeds).

Hi Al,

Take care of yourself. I am glad to hear that you made it out without any major bodily damage.

Ouch! I'm glad you're OK. If you're sore today, just wait till Wednesday-ish. When I had my single-car accident, I was fine for the two days after the crash, but the 5 days after that, my neck was stiff as hell. Consider getting yourself checked out (if you haven't already)... especially if your insurance will cover it.

I hope you have a speedy recovery, and that every thing works out favorably. I know you loved the car (as we all do), but this sounds like a good excuse to upgrade to an 06 or 07. I wouldn't rule out David's suggestion, either. I'd love to step into an Exige. Of course, I'd probably step into a new Z06 before I spent that much money on another torqueless wonder. I think the new Vette would be a nice change of pace from the S2000 personality.
