Default Another AEM V2 install!

Out with the old:

In with the new:

It's hard to tell if it adds significant power... I think the dyno from AEM shows 10hp+10ft-lb or so... but the SOUND is AMAZING!!!!

I know that sounds kinda ricey - but it makes me feel like I'm driving a monster with 500hp when I mash the pedal down and that sound comes to life. I'm loving this thing... pretty much sounds stock when you're not on the throttle, too - so no constant droning mind-numbing boom like you get with some of the exhausts

Oh - sorry the pics kinda suck.. I took pics more to have a reference as to how stuff went together than for show. These are the only ones that even begin to show the whole thing.

I thought about calling you to see if you wanted to help - but then I got antsy to get out there and start working on it... took me between 3 and 4 hours (I can't remember when I started exactly).

I left my bumper on this time - just took out all the plastic pieces from underneath

Wow very nice.....I was debating on the V2 or the Injen and as you can see I went with Injen

Before

After

Cover Shield I took from my brother and used it for the "umbrella" for the filter

So So beautiful

BTW.......I heard that the V2 and Injen sound different as in.......the V2 sounds Deeper??? and the Injen is more of a highpitched scream? I would like to hear the V2 in person

How much weight did you guys save on the intakes? I heard the stock unit is pretty hefty.

Dunno... maybe you can make it to the next 2 Rows Tuesday and we can compare?

I went AEM because I got a good deal and I saw lots of people recommending it... I didn't do a whole lot of research.

SpeedxRacer: It probably saved a few pounds... maybe 5 or 10 - but I didn't pay much attention really.

the stock intake weight is very noticably heavier than the Injen, I couldnt tell you how much weight was saved but its probably around the 5-10lbs or more....hahaha.

I dont get to make the 2 Rows Meets on Tuesdays since I work mon-fri, UPS owns me

Injen intakes seem to be pretty poor design. My friend put one on his 02 Maxima SE 6spd and the placement pretty much put it right next to the radiator making it suck in maximum hot air. It lost a few whp compared to his baseline dyno.

well hopefully on the s2k it wasnt designed poorly . From what I saw on the V2 install pics it seems like the Injen sits pretty much the same way so I dunno.

The AEM V2 is the best bang for your buck hands down. With the filter in the coldest point of the car and the design of the tube, it acually gives u a decent gain. Fitment is great and sound is amazing. Sold my V2 because im scared to get hydrolocked. Cant have thatfor a Daily Driver.
