Default Any good shops

Looking into getting gears, hoping to reuse everything but the ring and pinion which will be the 4.77s i want to use.

Anyone know any good shops in the area that do good quality work and charge at a good price?

I live in Grapevine, so the closer the better of course

any info appreciated

I've been doing it for board members for a number of years now.

$100 labor for just the gear swap, assuming you bring the pumpkin and all the parts. Add $100 labor if you want me to drop and reinstall the pumpkin as well. Add $140 for all related seals, shims, bearings, spacers, etc.; some of those can be deleted depending on age and wear, depending.

so if we bring you our car, and a set of gears, $340 gets everything taken care of?

Yes you will need an install kit. It has the crush sleeve, bearings etc.... The shims are unknown until the new gears are in place there are about 30 different shims @ about $8 each. don't worry you don't need all of them you might not need any just depends on the gears. Below is the install kit from hard top guy.

You definitely will need a shim. In all the installs I've done I've never had one come out even close to not needing a different shim.

I've got the shim set, so I can select the right shim and then buy that one again to backfill my set.
