battery replacement
I have to replace the battery, and was wondering if anybody had any specific recommendation for a battery they liked. I want to put a non-race battery, just something similar that is reasonable for right now. I have had my car for 50k miles and it just died from lack of recent use and the cold snap! Thanks in advance and good luck in February for the first autox.
Best regards,
Alex

I've been using Everstart batteries from Wallyworld I'd say for the last 15 years with no problem. I just installed a new Everstart in the S and it worked out great for $63.36, self installed.
Edit: BTW, I made my OEM battery last longer than it should have by adding distilled water in it every 2 weeks.

Similar story here. cdelena clued me in a few years ago that the OEM "maintenence free" batteries are usually just regular batteries with a label on top of the maintenence plugs.
Stock Honda batteries included. I added water to the battery in my S every 6 months or so, as with my other batteries, and usually get them to last 4-5 years or more.
If you want to install and forget, don't concern yourself with the brand so much as to getting a lifetime warranty. Shop by price and by that, don't worry about CCAs as much as OEM size (physically). You won't notice a difference unless you have a big system, saving a few lbs on the battery is for racers only, and for the most part any generic battery will last 3 years or so if otherwise ignored. Take it back in under warranty if it dies and you still have the car.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Todd's the one that clued me in on the adding water to a "maintenance free" battery.
Todd, did you unscrew each "X" on the OEM, or just that one plug that had the little dipstick?
BTW, my new ones got two caps that cover all the holes.

I just use Interstate batteries because they have a great replacement warranty, they are not too expensive (like Wallyworld), they are close to my house, and they installed for free.
OK I'm lazy.

The cells are seperate on every battery I have seen thus far... I unscrew them all and add water up to the edge of the tube.
